Being family owned, Interstate Cold Storage takes great pride in providing industry solutions that go beyond just service and storage. For 35 years, we’ve operated with a philosophy that puts customer needs ahead of all else. Striving to provide true solutions requires commitment, customer focus and the ability to act quickly when urgent needs arise. Here are a few examples that illustrate this point:

What was otherwise a normal weekend, turned out to be a devastating 24 hours for one of our frozen food customers in Northern Ohio. After a fire destroyed their on-site storage and distribution center, the company was left with no way to store or transport new product coming off the line. This is when Interstate stepped into action.

In just seven short days, Interstate was able to make accommodations at the Fort Wayne West location that included temporary office space, office staff, computers, fax and phone, hiring warehouse staff for three shifts, and dedicating several trucks to customer routes.

Just a week after the fire the company was back on its feet, operating out of an Interstate Cold Storage location. As it turned out, these accommodations remained for 12-months, until rebuilding was complete at the site of the fire.

Just two weeks from the holidays, a long standing Interstate customer was faced with a request it had never encountered. Six full loads of tempered hams were requested for delivery in 4 days; a request typically unheard of in the world of frozen ham.

Normal industry practice is 2-3 weeks for tempering ham; however Interstate’s patented tempering equipment can pull this task off in just days. In this case, the ham company was able to deliver on promises made to retail.
When an unfit provider failed to fulfill its contractual obligations for the Ohio School Lunch program, the State of Ohio knew who to call. Having previous experience with this program, Interstate Cold Storage made an immediate and seamless move to complete distribution and picking for hundreds of Ohio schools in a matter of weeks.
